mal.lk started as a windowsill of rescue pothos in 2019 and has, somehow, become a small shade-house in Wennappuwa and a packing table. Everything we sell is propagated, raised, or personally sourced by us from growers across the island — never flown in from elsewhere.

Propagated in-house
More than 60% of our catalog is grown from cuttings in our Wennappuwa shade-house. The rest comes from a handful of trusted nurseries we visit in person — in Gampaha, Kandy, and Matara.
Supporting local makers
Our terracotta comes from a family of potters in Molagoda, our stoneware from a ceramicist in Dankotuwa, and our coir from Negombo.
No plastic-first packaging
Newsprint, cardboard braces, recycled kraft, and banana-fibre cushioning. We are working towards zero single-use plastic by 2027.
